Physics

At Regent college school of science, we recognize the importance of teaching physics to JSS1 students in order to prepare them to be better scientists in the future. By introducing the fundamental principles of physics at an early age, we lay the foundation for a more advanced understanding of the subject in later years. Our physics curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including mechanics, energy, waves, and electricity. We provide our students with both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, giving them the tools and skills needed to develop a deeper understanding of physics. Teaching physics to JSS1 students also helps to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential in all areas of science. By encouraging our students to explore the mysteries of the universe, we ignite their passion for science and inspire them to pursue future academic and professional opportunities in the field. Ultimately, our goal is to provide our students with a solid foundation in physics that will equip them to excel in future scientific endeavors and make meaningful contributions to the field.

Mathematics

Our school curriculum on mathematics is designed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous education to our students. Starting from the basics of arithmetic, students progress to more advanced topics such as algebra, geometry, and calculus. The curriculum aims to equip students with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills, which are essential in today's rapidly changing world. We also emphasize the use of technology to enhance learning, and our teachers employ a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and interactive activities. Overall, the mathematics curriculum aims to develop students' quantitative reasoning abilities, which are essential for success in higher education and many careers.

English Language

The school curriculum for English language and Igbo as a Nigerian language aims to develop students' proficiency in both languages. English language instruction focuses on reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary development. The goal is to enable students to communicate effectively and confidently in English, which is the language of instruction in many higher education institutions and workplaces in Nigeria and around the world. The Igbo language curriculum introduces students to the basics of the language, including pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, with an emphasis on communication and comprehension. The curriculum also aims to foster an appreciation for Nigerian culture and heritage through the study of indigenous languages.

It is evident that our curriculum extends beyond the six subjects mentioned above,  we integrate other subjects of social science and general education such as national values, physical and health education, economics, among others.
