First, people campaign by making speeches and holding political rallies in other to explain to the voters their party's manifesto. The manifesto is a party document which tells the electorate what the party planned to do for them. A good manifesto can win many votes. When the weeks of campaign from place to place and from house to house are over, voting takes place. During the campaign days, the electorates try to assess the abilities of the men and women who have offered themselves as candidates. On the day of the actual voting, people go out to the polling stations in each constituency. They enter a polling booth and put their vote into the ballot box. Voting is by secret ballot since nobody sees whom anyone is voting for. The counting of the votes is done by presiding officer in the presence of the party agents.
