It was a fine Monday morning after the long weekend, being that the previous Friday had been declared a public holiday to mark the nation's independence anniversary. The weather was quite cool. There was the early morning breeze. Workers were hurrying to their places of work just as school children were hurrying to their schools so as not to be late. I got to the bus stop at 7:00 a.m.expecting to catch the bus which usually got their by7.15 a.m. The bus will convey me to the gate of Kako College. When I got to bus stop, I met a long queue of people waiting for the bus. It eventually came at 7:45 a.m. which was quite unusual. I think because of the long weekend the driver had overslept and got up late. As soon as the bus arrived, everyone struggled to get on it. It was indeed a survival of the fittest. I managed to get on the bus. Then I noticed that one lady was quarrelling with one man. The lady claimed that the man stepped on her toes, and so she became furious. She was fuming with anger. I suppose she must have fought with her husband before she left home that morning. Only that could be the explanation for her misbehavior that morning. The man apologized and explained to her that it was because of other people struggling to get on the bus that he mistakingly stepped on her toes. Other passengers tried to appeal to the lady. The more they appealed to her, the more she became furious. The man -- a gentleman indeed, kept on apologising. Then it happened. The lady gave the man a slap. The , who from his look must have been on three-day fasting, slumped and became unconscious. Without doubt the lady was a wicked person. I wonder how her husband had been managing her. There was commotion in the bus. Some passengers were making efforts to revive the man. Meanwhile, the bus arrived at the bus stop where the woman was to ALIGHT. As she attempted to get off the bus so as to escape, three other passengers who were enraged pounced on her and gave her the beating of her life. Thank God, after four sachets of pure water had been poured on the man he CAME ROUND. The bus driver wanted to report the case at the nearby police station, but it was the man that pleaded for the lady. Eventually, the lady apologized for her irrational behavior, knelt down and embraced the man. Surprisingly, the lady got the phone number of the man. She also gave her phone number and address to the man. After that ugly incident, they became friends.
